The ultimate "Blown" Chevy Corvettes were unveiled for the public a few days before Christmas 2007. They are the 2009 ZR1 SuperCar.
The new model ZR1 does not use the hyphen as in the past models (which was then spelled as the ZR-1). It is powered by the aluminum block supercharged 638 horsepower (476 kW) LS9 376 c.i. (6.2L) small-block V8, which was also seen in the base model last year (as the standard Corvettes new LS3 engine) sans the blower and other additional mods needed to make it into the ZR1 engine. GM claims the LS9 is also a street friendly engine for day to day driving. The Z06 does 3.6 second 0-60, and the ZR1 is said to cut that to 3.4 seconds. The car will top out at about 205 mph (330 km/h). 1st gear can take you to 64 mph. These numbers don't necessarily highlight the fact that the ZR1 will flat out "walk the dog" on any rolling start competitions.

The LS9 is built at GM’s Performance Build Center in Wixom, MI along with the Z06’s LS7 engine, and a few other Hi-Po motors. This motor will use an improved LS7 dry sump oil system. The connecting rods are titanium, as are other parts. Redline is 7100 rpm.

The lions share of the power boost is delivered via the positive-displacement Eaton TVS R2300 Roots-type supercharger with a new, four-lobe rotor design plus an integrated charge cooling system. The intercooler's are from Behr. You are looking at 604 lb.-ft of available torque with this engine.

This engine is also available as a crate motor from GM Performance Parts for your aftermarket performance pleasure.

This supercharger has a lot to do with this LS9 being the most powerful motor in GM history. Max boost pressure is 10.5 psi (0.72 bar) on the stock setup. Much experience was gained by the engineers from their work with the LC3, supercharged DOHC V8 used in the Cadillac XLR-V. The supercharger is visible through a polycarbonate window in the hood, which seems to be all the rage with some of the Italian exotics these days.

The chassis is toughened up for the ZR1. The six speed Tremec TR6060 manual (.pdf info) is also beefed up with race-hardened gears, while all axle components are also strengthened.
The Brembo brakes include massive ceramic, drilled disc brake rotors (15" front and 15 1/2" rear).
The wheels are 19" in the front, and 20" in the rear, wearing Michelin Pilot Sport PS2 tires. The front tires are 10" wide (285/30R-19) and the rear are 12" W (335/25R-20).
The suspension features the Magnetic Selective Ride Control (MSRC), by Delphi, with 2 modes: Tour and Sport. Info on the system is here halfway down the page.

The price will be from about $ 100k to $ 115k, (initially many dealers are asking way above this MSRP) and about the only options available are the upgraded leather interior (4LZ package), chrome wheels, navigation system, and Bluetooth. The roof, hood, and front fenders are carbon fiber, and will weigh in at about 3,300 lb (1,500 kg).
