We are going to deal with the cat (catalytic converter) back Corsa exhaust for the C5 C6 Corvette (6 liter, 6.2 liter, and 7 liter).

The Corsa Performance Exhaust was chosen first because some of the most reputable tuners in the world include these as part of their kits. Some even are so confident in this exhaust that they brand it under the name of their build kit or project car and make it into an integral part of their finished product.

The Corsa Exhaust in made in the USA of 304L Stainless Steel and carries a limited lifetime warranty, and is legal in all 50 states (according to Corsa). Of course the craftsmanship is a pleasure for any gearhead to admire.

They are also famous for their "No Drone" exhaust, or the elimination of the consistent, steady, unchanging tone in the middle and high rpm band that generally is annoying to nearly anyone. Corsa explains that they tune the exhaust system to "eliminate" problem sound frequencies (drone) without "muffling" the rest of the sound spectrum. In music drone is defined as a continuous note or chord.

Of course, there are performance claims to be made with a precision exhaust system, but this number is going to fluctuate in relationship to any other modifications you might make. Generally it is probably safe to say that with the cat back Corsa exhaust by itself there will be an approximate gain of 10 horse power.

You will have the choice between twin or dual tip versions.

Most Corsa exhausts are available in either Sport or Touring models, and the difference between the two is in the sound only. Both claim to have the same flow and power output. The Sport has a more "aggressive" sound, and the Touring has a more "refined" sound.

* For the standard C6 coupe and convertible you will have four choices. There are the Touring and Sport models available, and both are available with either 4" twin (2) tips, or 3.5" dual (2x2 or quad) tips.

* For the new Z06 there are 3 choices with the cat back. All models for the Z06 are the Sport version. No Touring kit is available. You have (1) the Sport Twin, (2) the Sport Dual, and (3) the XO-pipe or Crossover Pipe. The crossover pipe is designed to reduce the gurgling sound when the accelerator is released, but please note that many people like this sound, and may want to do without this part.
