Note: General Motors named the 1963 to 1967 C2 Chevrolet Corvettes (such as the ones pictured above) the Corvette Sting Ray (2 words). The C3 Corvette (next generation) started production as a 1968 model and was not officially named a stingray, but in 1969 until 1976 Chevrolet called the Corvette a Stingray (one word), even though the C3 continued in production until 1982. Besides these dates mentioned above the car was not officially named either the Sting Ray or Stingray.
